Launched to locate and assist a 22ft yacht that had suffered machinery and navigation equipment failure. The yacht was believed to be in the area of the smalls.
The lifeboat located the yacht, with 2 adults and 1 cat onboard, 20 miles from the lifeboat station attempting to sail to Milford Haven.
Due to the problems with the engine which meant that the crew could not operate any navigation equipment, the lifeboat offered to tow the yacht back to Milford Haven.
A tow was passed and the yacht was towed back to the Haven and secured alongside the mackerel pontoon at Milford Docks at 1340hrs.
The lifeboat returned to station at 1400hrs.

22:16 Paged: Launch ILB. 22:24 Paged Launch Both Boats, to reports of "persons in the water" at Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock. ILB launched first, followed shortly after by the ALB. On arrival at Hobbs point a vessel was found berthed alongside the Pembroke Haven Yacht Club pontoon, riding violently in strong winds. The initial call had been made from a member of the public, who was deeply concerned for the safety of the vessels owner. St Govan's HM Coastguard Rescue Team were in attendance.
The owner of the vessel (approx 26' yacht, not yet fitted with masts), requested an escort to a more sheltered mooring or berth at Lawrenny. ILB crew member Mark Roch was put on board the casualty vessel to assist the owner, the ILB towed his tender, and the ALB led the vessel to Lawrenny. On arrival the ILB crew assisted the casualty vessel to berth, a strong ebb-tide now running, and both boats were released to return to station at approximately 01:15, returning to the boathouse about 30 minutes later.

Whilst returning from exercise late on Sunday morning, the ILB noticed a 12m yacht aground near Pennar Gut in the Milford Haven waterway.  With the tide still ebbing, the crew of four on board the yacht said that they were aware of the time of low water, and were happy to stay on board until she refloated, and that they required no assistance.
The ILB reported the predicament to Milford Haven Coastguard, who were concerned for the safety of the vessel in view of the wake generated by the imminent arrival of the Rosslare-Pembroke ferry.  The ILB was tasked at 1203 to remain close to the yacht and monitor her safety until the ferry was clear of the area.  Approximately 20 minutes later the ferry was clear with no adverse effect on the vessel or her crew, and the ILB crew were released to return to station.

Weather
Details At 21:39 the crew were paged again to launch the All Weather Boat to assist the classic yacht Mignonette with three persons on board, who had reported no power and taking on water in unpleasant weather conditions with little visibility near St Ann’s Head. The boat launched and found that the Range Safety Vessel Smit Penally was escorting the Mignonettevessel, who had limited and intermittent VHF communications, but that the flooding situation was resolved. The lifeboat took over the escort and due to the amount of large-ship movements going on at the time, the decision was taken to tow the boat to Milford and into the lock pits where she was secured. The lifeboat returned to station at about 23:00, with the crew leaving the boathouse having refueled and washed down some time after 23:00.

Launched to 30ft cabin cruiser “Due South”, off Gateholm Island, with three persons on board, and total engine failure. A RIB in the area was able to tow her away from rocks and the lifeboat took over the tow, and was requested to take the vessel back to Milford Marina. However, shortly after taking the tow, “Due South” called the lifeboat on VHF radio, and informed the crew that she was taking on water, at what transpired to be an alarming rate. A member of the lifeboat crew (Mervyn Lunn) was transferred to the vessel with the salvage Due Southpump, and confirmed that the water ingress was serious, and coming from a hole along the chine of the hull. Mervyn managed to secure the pump and to alleviate the flooding. As the vessel would not have stayed afloat without this it was decided to take her somewhere she could be taken out of the water, and Milford was not available for this; Neyland was. The vessel was pumped continuously until she was being manoeuvred into the hoist.

On the way out of Neyland Marina, the lifeboat was called over by the owner of the Fishing Vessel Ddraig Goch with three persons on board. Whilst on sea trials his drive system failed and requested a tow to his mooring nearby. This was the second service performed in this launch and the lifeboat returned to station at 18:59.

The Coastguard then requested to look into reports of yacht adrift at Black Tar near Llangwm, after nothing was found at Black Tar the search continued up river towards Haverfordwest and the Yacht was located at Lower Freystrop. It was a surprise to the Gentleman on board to see the ILB and he informed them that he had been cooking his tea and that all was well. The service was recorded as a false alarm with good intent.Yacht adrift
