To the aid of a 8.5 m Gaff cutter yacht "Torhilder", 3 persons on board with a fouled propeller and rudder off Skokholm Island.
The Yacht skipper had managed to free the rudder and was sailing when lifeboat arrived on scene. The yacht then proceeded to sail towards Dale with the Lifeboat escorting them for 20 min's before being diverted to Freshwater West.

Feed back received from Torhilder:

Thanks to the lifeboat and crew who came out to us on 28th August when Torhilda had a line wrapped round rudder and prop off Skokholm - losing steering in a tide race off a rocky island is not an experience we'd like to repeat, and the prompt assistance of coastguard and lifeboat was a great reassurance. Having managed to free the rudder and make progress under sail, the light winds stayed with us and we were pleased to anchor safely in Dale 10pm that night! Thanks again.
Perry, Claudia and James Crickmere
