Mark

Mark Lynas "Lego"

I make windmills for my job.

My hobbies are fishing and watching Wales and the Ospreys at rugby. I am also a big music fan.

What do you wear on the lifeboat?
A teddy suit to keep me warm, a helmet and a dry suit (which is not always dry!) and a lifejacket.

What is it like being a crew member?
You get a sense of pride.

How do you keep fit?
I run to the pub, or I might even ride my bike I also enjoy walking my dog ( mostly to the pub).

What is it like on the lifeboat when the weather is really bad?
Not very comfortable, very wet and bumpy.

What made you join the lifeboat crew?
It might be me out there one day, and I would want one of my crew mates to come out for me.

Do you ever get frightened when you are about to go out on a rescue?
You don't really think about it. You trust your crew mates and your kit.

What happens if you are ill at sea?
I turn green and grumpy!

Describe a special rescue you have been involved in:
Picking a lady out of the water at about 3am on a cold and windy night. Just to see the look on her face when we go her on board, she was very pleased to see us.
