Lady Rank News: 12th June 2009

From The Lizard Lifeboat

..and she was out again yesterday!(11th June 09)
This time to a fishing boat reporting a fire, no power and no radio. The lifeboat linked up with a Royal Navy helicopter from our nearby SAR squadron, which winched a crewman down on to the fishing boat to make sure all was safe for the lifeboat to take it in tow to Falmouth. Lady Rank was back in her adopted home at The Lizard after around five hours.

9th June 2009

Lady Rank has been on five shouts during her time here - but six jobs! The brief details are: March 18th - to a French yacht after it collided with a commercial vessel, but in the event sustained no major damage and was OK to carry on.

April 15th - to a motor-cruiser snagged in discarded fishing nets, towed to Falmouth.
April 22nd - searched for a container in a potentially dangerous place, lost off a commercial vessel.
May 3rd - to fishing vessel Red Vixen from Fowey, leak problem. Pumped out and sent on its way. Then...
May 3rd - on the way home, picked up a diver with the bends and transferred him to an RNAS helicopter.
May 20th - to Red Vixen - again! - this time with engine trouble. Towed to Falmouth.

She's going back to Poole when her stay here ends.

Attached are some pix of her in her temporary home....

    All the best,

Mike
