Elizabeth Elson

1929 - 1957

In 1929 a new boat house was completed in Angle at a cost of £20,000, and the Elizabeth Elson arrived.

At a cost of £8,253 the 45'6" x 12'6" Watson Class non self-righter was built by J.S.White of Cowes. Driven by two 40 h.p. Wayburn CE4 petrol engines she had a top speed of 8.23 knots .

Whilst at Angle the Elizabeth Elson was launched 58 times and a total of 114 lives were saved.

After leaving Angle she was part of the relief fleet until 1968, she was then sold and renamed the Elizabeth E. A wheel house has since been added and she is was last known to be used as a pleasure boat at Sneem, Kerry, Eire in December 04.
